1 Reduce the load size.

Not a shortcut for stuffing the tub-you need to get the clothes clean! Adjust the water level (newer models do this automatically) and the drying time, and go for smaller volumes if your washer and dryer have different capacities.

2. Use a pre-saw cycle.

This setting may upset the content and dispense the detergent before starting the main cycle, so extra dirty loads are cleaned in two passes.

3. Bleach yourself.

Do not have a Time Bleach Dispenser, but do you want that extra cleaning power? Add chlorine bleach (as long as it is safe for your fabric) to the cycle (after 5 minutes).

4 Choose the right detergent.

Use only products with the "He" logo on high efficiency machines. Regular cleaners can damage these devices and generate too many suds.

5 Clean the machine.

Select the largest load size, fill the bath with a cup of hot water and bleach, and run the cycle (with a new machine, just select the self cleaning cycle). Remove the dispenser and drawer, rinse under hot water and brush the rest.
